God is big enough to forgive us endlessly. There is no ranking of sins. God never states that one group of sins is covered and another is not. There is no sizing or measuring of sin. Yet we constantly face the temptation to create this overlay on scripture, limiting God’s forgiveness. In the process, we limit our progress due to the weight we carry from our mistakes. We forget that love keeps no record of wrongs. Most success stories are a derivative of getting out of our own way. Teachers, coaches, counselors, leaders, and pastors all echo the same message regarding developing our lives this way. They encourage us to surrender our self-imposed limitations and obstacles and realize God’s reward. Often, our choice not to forgive ourselves creates the most distraction and clutter, even though God guarantees us His unwavering forgiveness. Take all your sin, all your sorrow, all your self-pity, all your temptation, and all your defeat. Put it down and give it to God. He promises to make our lives clean from all sin. The first step is getting out of your own way!
