“I am” is one of the most powerful phrases in the Bible. This is where God tells us exactly who He is. The next section outlines the purpose and promise that he succinctly defines with this statement. “I am” is the declaration of our faith that is unwavering and unyielding. It serves as the affirmation that shapes our destiny. God claims that He is the only one, the Messiah. He is self-existent, eternal, self- sufficient, self-directed, and unchanging. Most importantly, He declares that He is present. God’s “I am” statements provide us absolute clarity and assurance in our lives. It is our eternal hope.
