Sometimes, it’s just flat-out hard to feel God’s presence. The primary reason is actually within our control. Two things usually create distance: our decision to not seek Him consistently, and reading scripture only through the lens of what God can do for us, rather than what God asks us to do for Him. My mind frequently wonders about unfulfilled dreams. I have pursued what I thought was my purpose and what I thought was a God-ordained direction. Confusion creeps in when my dreams remain unrealized, and I wonder why God did not bless my efforts or, worse, where God was during my journey. However, when this happens, the truth always reveals that I focused on my gain, not God’s. You can deliberately and purposefully choose to know God on a deeper level, beginning today. There are no prerequisites. Simply start to read, pray, and talk with Jesus. Dive deeper while asking the Holy Spirit to open your eyes to know Him better and see all of His beauty directly in front of you!
