God is the original First Responder. He rescues us from our burdens, from the lies of others, from trouble, from those that want to hurt us, from our own decisions that hurt us, from debt, and from drowning emotionally. He delivers us again and again and again. God is inexhaustible amidst all of our trials on earth and He rescues us from the grave as He welcomes us into Heaven. Ultimately, God wins, whether or not we’re victorious in every battle. Years ago, my daughter was visiting Uganda and climbed down from the top of the van to photograph the vast grasslands from eye level. When she returned home, she noticed in the photo that a lion had been peering through the grass just a few feet from where she stood! She never saw the lion while taking the shot. It will be remarkable to learn of all the moments I unknowingly escaped death by God’s protective hand!
