The world conditions people to search for who they are in external things. Defined by career, successes in performance, financial milestones, relationships, and appearance—none of which are permanent—people can only find their true identity by looking within. Your ‘Who I Am’ is first shown by who you are in Christ, then how your character mirrors His image designed in you. God is unchanging. He is reliable. He is the same in all moments without any influence by mood or circumstances. If you find your identity in Him, then in the end, you will never be let down because He has proven trustworthy. Understanding Who you are in God starts with understanding who He is, what He says about Himself, and what He says about you. God’s attributes are obvious: he is almighty, wise, and loving. You, too, can be defined by the obvious, by allowing His perfection to determine who you are. Just look at all the models He designed for us: A heart that beats without command, the ability to think, the ability to love, and most importantly, the human desire to improve and aspire to new and wonderful things. See His perfection in who you are.
