Comforting

2 Corinthians 1 verse 3 (NLV) says, “He is our Father Who shows us loving-kindness and our God Who gives us comfort. He gives us comfort in all our troubles.”

My memory of holding my child instantly delivers a sense of comfort. Their body small, lying in my lap as my embrace brings relief. My holding them eases the pain and, even for just a moment, their body responds as rigid muscles relax and tension releases. Comfort is restored.

God does the same for us. He speaks through His comforting. His arms are always open to receive us and restore calm.

“Jesus, so thankful that I can always bring you my hurts, my struggles, my doubts and distrust! You are my Ultimate Comforter! Your arms always open! Love you Jesus, Amen!”
