Do I have to become an expert or a specialist to understand God when He speaks? The answer is no. When God speaks to us, it is concise and straightforward and does not require a Ph.D. in theology. God’s word is simple enough for a child to understand. Still, as adults, we get in the way of ourselves, making His message overly complex. So many miss God’s voice by complicating His instruction for our lives. Listen to His simple commands: love, honor, trust, follow, and fear not. But He speaks the most simple and impactful word: “Come.” His invitation is to stand up, walk towards Him, and step towards His open arms. Jesus is always calling out to us. He’s constantly willing us to act on moving closer to Him. One of the easiest ways to talk with God is to take His word, inject your name, and say it aloud to Him. “Jesus turned around and saw [Rob] following. He asked [Rob], “What are you looking for?” “[Rob] come, and you’ll see.” “[Rob] come on, He’s calling you.” All you have to do is answer God’s call.
