I talked with one of my close friends about how we are trudging through our faith journey together. He noted that our fight with Satan is a battle to the finish line. Like most, I look and long for tranquil seasons, for moments of smooth sailing, even more so when I’m struggling with fatigue. I must remember that God commands me courageously to step forward in faith. When defeat looms large or when I’m feeling overwhelmed from too many days on the frontlines, God delivers courage to me. It is not like the fantasy of Oz as a lion. Instead of having to travel down a yellow brick road and be given a crown of courage, God requires nothing of me and speaks courage into my soul instead. His courage convinces me never to quit.
