Enough To Lead The World
Colossians 2:8-10 (NLT)
“Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ. For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body. So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority.”

God is big enough to lead the world and to complete us, too. Let’s face it. It’s a complex and confusing time right now. Many are claiming they hold the answers to world conflict, human rights of both the born and unborn, environmental responsibility, economic prosperity, the state of emergencies, gender clarity, how to enjoy life, and much more. I believe the answers lie where we should turn first, the “head of every power and authority” in the world, our Lord Jesus Christ.
As I returned from Colorado, driving through Nevada and joining a community of people leaving Las Vegas, I witnessed many testimonies of how well humans lead ourselves. I am sure some of their time was innocent fun, but I bore witness to fatigued, compromised, and devastated people inching across the desert who were thinking: “What did I just do?”
For decades, I have nicknamed this section of I-15 as the ‘Highway of Regret.’ What starts for many as a reprieve, the commute back from Las Vegas is pitted with remorse due to the ethical, moral, financial, or spiritual swaths of damage left in the wake of their stay. I’m thankful there are better ways to secure the fullness of life. God is big enough to lead the world, and I can trust Him to lead my life.
