God as a foundation is tested, precious, and safe. Other translations say, “whoever believes will not worry, waver, panic, or be afraid.” In your current situation, what would it feel like if worry, indecision, panic, and fear were taken away? What if you were mentally and physically unshaken? I have been stricken with fear many times in my life. The most challenging instances have arisen from facing others’ death; even sometimes, my own. During these moments, the initial wave of panic was so severe that I froze, and then my body reacted with a pounding heart, dizziness, trembling, and shortness of breath. It felt like a thousand pounds were sitting on my chest. All the while, I knew I had to keep performing in order to survive. During this terrifying time, Jesus was my foundation and the only way I pulled through.
