Give thanks and praise to God definitively and boldly. It does not require practice or preparation. God just requires a willing heart. He does not demand extensive education on how to approach Him. Just use your mind to focus on all the blessings He has given you. Do this instead of using the same energy to fixate on all of the hardships and setbacks of the past or projecting and forecasting doom and hopelessness into your future. I understand that getting wrapped up in the struggles and sensational storytelling when facing challenges seems more manageable. We can easily get consumed by all the perils we face, but that is precisely the trap Satan sets. He aims to get our minds so cluttered that God is pushed aside and forgotten. But what about all the good things He delivers amidst our trials? We can focus on the little things, like the sunset we woke up to, Jesus’s presence, and the symphony of birds chirping. I encourage you to read the following verses of Thanksgiving and let them consume your mind: 2 Corinthians 9:15: “Thank God for his priceless gift.” Ephesians 5:20: “Always giving thanks to God the Father for everything.” Psalm 10:1: “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, and his loyal love endures.” God promises His constant love and presence. All we have to do is give Him thanks and trust Him.
