He Is Our Refiner

Galatians 2:20 (ESV)
“I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”

Who encourages you? Who cheers you on while observing what you do, not criticizing but aiming to improve you? Or are you a lone wolf in the wild: confident, self-motivated, and self-sufficient? We may think we must pursue hardships independently, but even Jesus surrounded himself with His disciples. A simple comparison is how we perceive today’s athletes. Take the tennis phenomenon of Novak Djokovic. His prize money in 2023 alone amounted to $38.4 million, earning more than $510 million throughout his career. He has built a successful career with his talents, but he is anything but self-reliant. His travel team alone contains seven other teammates. Coaches, strategists, and fitness trainers collectively study how to improve him in every aspect. He is far from independent. God created us to win by committee. Below are three powerful statements from God’s word: • You have the mind of Christ. • Christ lives in you. • God is continually working in you to conform you to the image of Christ. He constantly challenges and changes us, equipping us with the mind of Christ, the Holy Spirit, and the desire to improve until He calls us home.
