In the last section, we explored different ways God speaks to us. Taking those themes further, God desires to talk with us personally. There are 112 references in the Old Testament and 32 in the New Testament where God spoke directly to individuals in various ways, including scripture, visions, and dreams, to name a few. He spoke to Noah, Abraham, Jacob, and Moses, and later to Daniel and Paul.
God may speak in an audible voice, although I’ve never experienced this personally. I have met people who have heard God’s voice in moments of challenge or trauma. God delivers assurance and confidence that He’s right there. Comments like, “You’re not alone,” “I’m right here,” and “I am with you” literally breathe life back into us in times of desperation. Don’t hesitate to, by prayer and petition, speak with your Father God.
