Knowing your identity in Christ draws Him close. There’s no missing His presence when you truly understand who you are in Jesus. Satan whispers lies: that we are misunderstood, mistaken, misplaced, unloved, unheard, and unseen. We must know who we are to block out the lies and replace them with knowledge of our identity in Christ. I need to take action against Satan’s constant attempts to mask my true identity in Jesus. I need to remind myself daily that my identity does not lie in my mistakes, weaknesses, struggles, temptations, embarrassing moments, or discouraging voices that Satan tries to swirl in my mind. I must take God’s grace that pours over me to wash away all this evil messaging. In its place, I need to amplify God’s voice. I hear that I’m blessed, treasured, and precious; His special possession. Knowing He’s my protector and provider, I must bask in His presence. My biggest weapon against Satan is knowing that Jesus rules over my mind, giving evil no place and no chance to corrupt who I am in Christ.
