God is always calling us to seek His face. 1 Chronicles 16:11 instructs us to, “Look to the Lord and ask for His strength. Look to Him all the time.” And yet, our vision gets clouded and distracted by Satan’s smokescreens and his constant attempts to focus our vision elsewhere. There is good news: God never hides from us. Anytime our sight of Jesus is compromised, we must ask Him to restore our vision. I’ve experienced this at times. Satan has convinced me that I can’t see Jesus, He’s not by my side, and He can’t hear my voice. The world’s response boils to the surface! My hope wanes, angst climbs, and the feelings of desperation increase. Even worse, panic can spike to the point where all feels lost. But Elisha shows us how to respond in 2 Kings 6, praying for God to open his servant’s eyes. He specifically asks to see God’s presence. Follow that exact model, asking frequently in prayer, especially in the morning, to feel His presence throughout your day. Then watch as you progress through the day—your clarity will heighten, and you will see evidence that His company is always front and center.
