Have you ever experienced a scripture popping into your mind and responded, “Hold on, I’ve never read that scripture before!” I’ve witnessed many times where somebody spoke God’s word in prayer—then they discovered that it was new. How does this happen? God often plants His vision and wisdom into our minds through His word, which comes to us when we need it most. The most profound experience I have had was at our daughter’s side. She had just taken her last breath on earth, followed by her first breath in Heaven. Our pastor intended to pray, but emotions overwhelmed him. My wife, in shock, couldn’t speak, either. But then our son, at age 15, took the mantle and prayed well beyond his comprehension, praying our daughter into heaven with reverence and spiritual maturity, fully empowered with the word as God used his voice in a mighty way. I treasure this moment of God equipping our son when he answered the call of his Father!
