God designed and destined for us a kaleidoscope of pains. We are all formed differently, and sensations can trigger warning signals to pay attention, varying from person to person. He can use these signals to show us a that correction in a course or a behavior change is necessary. Sometimes, it’s a bold “Stop, you’re in grave danger!” kind of pain; other times, it’s just the prompt to reach for God and feel his assurance: “I’m right here, I’m with you. Trust in me.” All of these messages result from being in the presence of God as He desires to speak with you right now. God often uses empathetic or sympathetic pain to draw us closer to Him. As God our Father does, think of all the prayer warriors in your life who are on your journey; loving, nurturing, and praying for you diligently. Think of the volume of people you should pray for, asking for God’s intercession for healing and recovery. Although you’re witnessing their pain, you can sense it as your own. God speaks to us through other’s suffering as well. It is easy to resist and try to avoid pain, but God can communicate through the pain He allows into our lives.
