Who Do You Need To Forgive?

Think about all the times someone took your heart and stomped on it. Think about all the terrible entities that have attacked your soul. For me, it hurts the most when others overlook my sacrifice, push away my love, and when abusers have left damage. Satan’s agents are always afoot to violate, rape, and pillage the souls of the vulnerable. The worst offenders are often the ones we allow to get the closest to us. Perhaps our family judges us based on who they want us to be, not how God made us. Dreams are dashed by the expectations of parents and siblings. They tell harmful stories with their words and attitude”, like, “You’ll never become who you want to be,” or “You don’t deserve this,” or “You’re not enough!” So, how is it possible to forgive? The truth is that you can’t do it on your own. I know the struggle well. I am driven by my head’s knowledge of what God tells me to do rather than my heart’s motivation to do what is right. Shallow forgiveness is driven more by obligation than sincerity. The good news is that we can identify who we need to forgive and rely on the Holy Spirit to help forgive them. Take action, forgive, and see God extend freedom from what you’re carrying.
