Close your eyes and think about a place you love. It can be a vacation spot, an overlook, or a spot that holds a treasured memory where you soak in all that is good and right. Then, think about the flood of emotion you feel when you return to this place. As you draw closer, your steps are swift, and your heart races. God feels so close. Once you arrive, envision a panning landscape; you feel like standing in breathtaking silence, then shouting or singing in worship. Your whole being fills with joy! You’re amazed by the scene that unfolds and even feel overwhelmed with how God’s blessed you with this place. Worshipping is where you cast your cares to Christ and experience His joy. Psalm 84 describes the joy of worship in just such a place: His temple. It says, “Lord God All-Powerful, your temple is so lovely! Deep in my heart, I long for your temple, and I sing joyful songs to you with all I am.” Use worship and praise to release the burden you carry finally. Jesus is right there to receive and relieve you of all the weight.
